For 160mm front travel fork, the SHAN 917 is now back in 27 version. The paint scheme in an inspiraion from the famous Porsche 917 of Steve Mcqueen in le Mans movie. Very special edition, all numbered behind the seat tube, production limited to 500pcs world wide. The SHAN 27 is the perfect Enduro weapon when the trail is steep, fast and gnarly.

The SHAN 27 917 is probably the most high-end Enduro hardtail on the market. We use for the SHAN a set of cromo 4130 tubes from Japan, triple butted and heatreated before welding. An anti rust layer is applied inside and outside the tubes before painting. The hoses guides are in alloy and screwed on the frame. The 2 tone paint scheme is made by mask (8 layers of paint and clear coating) and a special attention is bring to the finishing of this trail weapon limited at 500pcs world wide.
The key point of the SHAN is the vertical flexibity of the rear end thanks to the KTP flex system. This allows more grip, more comfort and more efficiency in down-hill section! To achieve it we’ve developped our own specific bladed tubes for the chainstays and the seatstays their increase the vertical flexibility. We didn’t use bridge between chainstays for the same idea. The seatstays are not heat treated to allow a maximum flexibility.
To insure the performance of our KTP flex system, we should used high-end tubes. That’s why our SHAN are made with Japanese cromo 4130 triple butted tubing. All tubes are heat treated before welding excepted the seat stay to keep more even flexibility.
We use on the SHAN a tapered head-tube for 2 reasons : better stress distribution between the down-tube and the headtube, thanks to the biggest welding junction and to increase the stifness of the front triangle without adding weight. We use on the SHAN a pressfit bottom bracket because his 92mm wide allow to weld the both chainstay with more clearance around the rear tire while keeping short chain stay.
An ED black treatment is applied inside and outside the tubes to prevent any rust issue and to insure a perfect paint application.
The SHAN 27 is 650B ready but is still built for 150mm or 160mm travel forks. The frame is now delivered with 12x142mm hangers to follow the current wheel offer. However we are still convinced 10x135mm makes a better choice in terms of ride feeling, so 10x135mm hanger kit are available.
The cherry on top is that the Shan can be built with 26" wheels thanks to a optional hanger kit allowing to have the right geometry (available in 10x135 and 12x142mm).
