Nukeproof Horizon Advanced Rim Defense (A.R.D.) is designed to help riders avoid punctures and rim damage. Its unique design has been developed for over 2 years by our sponsored athletes and staff. Weight reduction was a key factor in the development of the ARD. A 27.5-inch insert weighs 130g.
The ARD uses closed cell foam technology to create a lightweight tire insert that offers plenty of protection. With the ARD, you can run a lower pressure without going flat and you can increase grip on the trails.
CRC-Mavic sponsored rider Kelan Grant used the same A.R.D. for the 2018 EWS season. This includes only riding on the ARD on one stage as his tire was torn.
In the box you get a pair of A.R.D. inserts and a pair of copper-colored tubeless valves. The tubeless valves have been specially developed for Nukeproof so that you can easily inflate and deflate the tire with A.R.D. in the wheel.
