he Transition Relay is a lightweight E-MTB for trails and enduro tracks. It offers you limitless possibilities, with or without motor support. The basic idea behind the Relay was the modular principle right from the start. First came the frame, which can be ridden with 160 or 170 mm front and rear suspension travel. To this, 29-inch wheels or the Mullet option (29" front and 27.5" rear) were added. This means you are equipped for every trail. The heart of the Relay E-MTB is the Fazua Ride 60 drive, which supports you for endless kilometers and climbs or lets you pedal under your own power as if you were riding a non-motorized bike.
Transition Bikes offers you the choice between the Relay (160 mm, 29") and the Relay PNW (170 mm, 29/27.5"). So you can focus more on the versatility of a trail bike or the downhill fun of an enduro bike. The geometry differs accordingly in the head angle (64 vs. 63.3°, size M) and reach (460 vs. 452 mm). What they both have in common, however, is that they like to be ridden at the limit. It was developed and equipped accordingly, without missing the goal of keeping the weight as low as possible. In addition, the Relay should not only deliver the best performance as an e-bike, but also be just as much fun without e-support and battery. The battery can be removed with a single movement and without tools. The lightweight motor is fully integrated into the frame and is therefore not noticeable either visually or when riding. Chassis and features of the Relay E-MTB

The Transition Relay is designed as a trail and enduro bike. It offers 29-inch wheels (27.5" for XS) and 160 mm suspension travel via a Fox air suspension damper and suspension fork. The carbon frame is available in three equipment variants: With high-end Fox Factory suspension and electronic Sram XX1 AXS 12-speed drivetrain to the value-for-money version with Fox Performance and Sram GX Eagle. The aluminum frame is designed for beginners with Fox Performance shock and Sram NX 12-speed drivetrain. The Sram Code RSC or R brakes with 200 mm rotors offer powerful and reliable braking at all times.
The Transition Relay PNW is designed for steeper descents and more demanding descents. It comes with Mullet wheels (29" front and 27.5" rear) and the 170 mm travel is generated by the Fox coil shock. The carbon frame is equipped with high-end parts, while the aluminum frame offers excellent value for money. The Fox DHX2 Coil Factory 2 shock is fitted to both versions, while the 170 mm travel at the front is provided by the Fox Float 38 Grip 2 Factory or Performance. Shifting is either with the electronic Sram XO AXS 12-speed or GX Eagle. The RaceFace Aeffect R wheels with Schwalbe Super Trail Soft tires and TRP DH-R Evo brakes with 223/203 mm rotors are common to both versions.
Fazua Ride 60 motor and Fazua Energy 430 battery

The heart of the e-bike comes from the German company Fazua. It is known for the full integration of the motor on the one hand, but on the other hand they attach great importance to the fact that an e-bike with the battery removed can be ridden like a "normal" bike: The weight of the motor should affect the center of gravity and thus the handling of the bike as little as possible and no motor resistance should be felt when pedaling. The Ride 60 motor shines with its powerful propulsion, is barely audible and literally weighs just 1.96 kg. The 60 Nm torque and up to 450 watts of assistance make it possible to climb even the steepest of hills and push over high terrain edges. The Fazua Energy 430 battery has an optimized cell arrangement so that the 430 Wh can support you for as long as possible. The battery is held in the frame by a lightweight stainless steel rack and switches on automatically thanks to a motion sensor. The battery can also be charged in the bike via the charge port. The magnetic charging plug is self-aligning and the locking flap also closes automatically thanks to a magnet.
There are three pre-programmed riding modes as well as a boost and push assist mode. Breeze offers gentle support such as a constant tailwind with low pedal power. River is a progressive and very sporty mode in which the motor support depends on the power you apply to the pedals. The harder you pedal, the more motor support you get. Ideal for the trail. Rocket is the powerful support that lets you climb the steepest mountains even with moderate pedaling power. On top of this, there is Boost mode, which provides you with maximum motor power for 10 seconds. You can easily adjust the riding modes to your wishes and needs using your smartphone and the Fazua Connected app (iOS and Android).
The riding modes are selected intuitively with your thumb using the ring control on the handlebars, so that you can quickly switch on more support in any situation. The LED hub on the top tube not only shows you the battery charge level, but also which riding mode is currently set. Thanks to the integrated ANT+ and Bluetooth interface, you can even display the most important values of your Fazua drive on your smartphone or bike computer. With a Garmin computer, you can get even more data: Your pedaled power in watts, the motor support in watts, cadence, speed, the selected riding mode, battery status, overheating warning and much more. The hub also has a USB-C port that you can use to charge your smartphone, bike light or similar.
Relay frame features

Transition attaches great importance to the details of the Relay E-MTB. Completely internally routed shift cables and brake lines, mounting options for spare tubes and the like below the top tube, UDH derailleur hanger or Boost installation dimensions are now standard. What is special, however, is that a long-travel dropper post can be used in any frame size, as the seat tube is straight and continuous. Thanks to the 26% progression, the frame can be ridden with both air and steel spring shocks and can accommodate both 205x60 and 65 mm sizes. The flip chip adjusts the geometry so that the optimum riding characteristics can always be guaranteed depending on the wheel size. The chain guide specially developed for the Relay protects you from a falling chain and also protects the frame from chain jamming.
