Ax Lightness MTB/Gravel-Laufradsatz (Tubular 29er, <1200 g, inkl. Schlauchreifen)

Here comes a real rarity for sale:

Atubular wheelset with TUNE Skyline King & Kong hubs (rare, numbered limited edition for TUNE's "20th anniversary" from 2009, in classy silver with great laser engraving, with 2x axle kits for QR and 100/12 & 142/12 thru axle ) and AX-LIGHTNESS tubular carbon rims (with 25 mm width, i.e. made for tires between 45 and 55 mm wide). Add SAPIM CX-Ray blade spokes and the result is a wheelset weighing less than 1200 g!!! The acceleration and uphill performance are simply unique.

The wheelset was a personal gift from TUNE and was only ridden briefly (until Boost arrived), then lay unused and well protected in the box for years and has been back in use on the retro gravel bike since this summer. There it is absolutely brilliant to ride, but of course it also works on an XC race bike. The only reason I'm selling it is because I'm moving more and more towards long-distance/multi-day tours and unfortunately a defect in a tubular can't be repaired "just like that" (usually a new tire has to be fitted).

Technically, the whole set is flawless and absolutely as good as new, only on the rim edge are minor adhesive residues, which are sometimes inevitable when mounting tubulars - see the pictures.

I currently have a SCHWALBE Racing Ralph HT (Tubular 29x2.0) at the rear and a TUFO XC2 (29x2.0) at the front - both extremely fast tires and weighing just under 570 g each. I think they're great for real gravel use with lots of forest tracks and easier trails ... and even on the road I can keep up well with my gravel friends.

The weight of the front wheel is 1100 g, that of the rear wheel 1230 g (both with mounted tires). The LRS alone weighs less than 1200 g (VR: approx. 500-550 g / HR: approx. 600-650 g)!
The new price at the time was over 3000 euros.

Due to the special nature of this offer and also the retail price, I prefer an inspection and collection on site - but I can also send the LRS insured if necessary.

• This is a tubular/tubular wheelset. No normal tires can be ridden". Two matching tires (29x2.0 each) are installed and included

• The TUNE Skyline King & Kong hubs are still with the older 15mm axle standard. They can therefore be converted between quick-release/QR (currently fitted) and the thru-axles (100x12 & 142x12) commonly used on gravel bikes today (both kits are included). A classic SHIMANO freehub is fitted to the HR - it cannot be converted to XD/XDR freehub
