ATTENTION!
This is not a bait and switch offer, but an attempt to stimulate communication in the bike market.
It is not normally possible to write to a commercial seller before buying and ask about the configuration or even about the usefulness of a build. Either you buy and enter into a - perceived - "commitment", or you just ponder for yourself in silence, but then leave it alone.
I therefore try to offer a compromise, which looks like this:
I make offers for "1€", about which we can get in contact and talk about possible setups and should it come to a configuration, I then ask you to buy a corresponding "full-priced" offer from me here in the bike market! In this way, we can start a conversation with a minimal hurdle (1€ is not too big a hurdle, I hope, and also means for myself that the automatic 4% commission that the bike market gets from me is manageable for pure advice) and if a configuration really does come about, the bike market will not be cheated out of its commission. If no configuration comes about, it's no big deal either.
So, enough preamble, let's get to the actual main course:
DT Swiss - a name you'd probably never call an "underdog" again.
Especially not when it comes to wheels!
Accordingly, DT Swiss offers a whole range of rims, especially in the aluminum segment. However, I don't put my hand on all DT Swiss variants. What ends up in my truing stand as a new build normally always has two letters. XR, XM, EX or FR - these abbreviations seem somewhat arbitrary, but follow a very strict nomenclature and categorization of DT. These are rims from the XC, AM, ED, DH and FR range, which are equipped with the highest aluminum alloy and are hooked rims with welded rim joints. Anodized Shotpeen surface anyway. Accordingly, a lot can be expected from these rims in terms of quality, construction, durability and aftercare options. If you ride an LRS with DT Swiss rims in this category - and in the intended range of applications - you will enjoy them for years to come!
Do you also want to have a lot of fun with your wheels? Then "click around" and we can talk about a suitable setup for you.
You should be able to find something here!
Well, but a rim alone doesn't make a wheel!
The center is still missing, the hub! There is quite a lot of choice here.
My normal brands, which I use here, are as follows:
Aivee
DT Swiss
Acros
Erase
Hope
Duke
Industry Nine
Carbon-Ti
Non+Components
Extralight
SON
Onyx Racing
Chris King
Which of these - in which version - could be suitable for you is also part of the further consultation.
Are you still reading this text here and therefore consider yourself "interested"?
Then give yourself a jolt and click on "Buy" - then we can get in direct contact here via the bike market, where I will definitely ask you the following questions immediately:
What wheel sizes do you need?
What loads (application hardness/system weight) are to be expected here?
In which bike will they be ridden?
Which wheels have you already used for comparable applications - and how have they held up? Were there any defects? If so, which ones?
What wishes/ideas would you like to see fulfilled?
What is your favorite color?
What is the capital of Asyria?
You could also start our conversation with exactly this small list of questions. =)
Thank you very much for your attention
maybe see you soon
