The Burgtec Penthouse MK4 platform pedal is the successor to the legendary MK4 & MK3 pedals, which have already won WorldCups. The large tread surface and the arrangement of the pins ensure the best grip under extreme conditions. The Penthouse MK5 is therefore perfect for aggressive trail and downhill use. The pedal body is made of solid CNC-machined aluminum and the stainless steel pins are replaceable. The improvements to the MK5 have been achieved not only by enlarging the pedal platform, but also by making the platform concave, reducing the diameter of the pins and making the inside as wear-resistant as possible.
It was of utmost importance that the internal components of the MK5 represent the best of the best. To achieve this, Burgtec selected the most wear-resistant bushings from Igus. Their 'Endurance Runner' material - W300 - was a clear winner as it offers unrivaled resistance to external influences. Mud and water ingress is prevented by a full contact oil seal that keeps grease and contaminants out, even in the harshest conditions. This configuration of quality parts is why the Penthouse range has a reputation for outstanding longevity.
