Steinbach Hardtail MTB Rahmen 26" Aluminium RH 19" 49cm poliert

I offer here a well preserved original Steinbach aluminum hardtail frame. Steinbach is a company based in Kitzbühel that focuses on lightweight construction. The frame is suitable for 26" bikes and the frame height is 49cm, which corresponds to 19.3". A special feature that, as far as I know, can only be found at Steinbach: The top tube is no longer endlessly long, as was usual in the 80s and 90s, but here it is only 54cm. Measured from the middle of the seat tube to the middle of the head tube. This allows for a much more relaxed riding position, you don't sit as stretched out as is usual with most cross country frames of the time. The frame is therefore ideal if the rider also has relatively short arms. If this is not the case, the short top tube can be compensated for with a 110 mm or longer stem.

The frame does not have a counter mount for cantilever brakes but also does not yet have mounts for disc brakes. I would therefore date it to the late 1990s, probably around 1997/1998. The derailleur hanger is included, even if it can't be seen in the photos. The weight is only 1741g.

The condition is good. Chainsuck is present, but no dents, dings or cracks. The frame is designed for 1 1/8" forks. There are of course scratches from use over the last few years. The Steinbach is not for the showcase, but may be moved and used for its intended purpose.
